The Second Iranian Scientific and Professional Conference on Preparation in the Second Phase of World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) After the call of The Center for Research into Communication, the second meeting on Iran and information society was held on Tuesday, 12th of October 2004 at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Allameh Tabatabaee University. University professors, advisors to President, experts in the field and students were present in this meeting, expressing their ideas and comments on an active participation of Iran in Tunis Summit. In the lectures delivered during this session, beside heavy intellectual discussions upon the importance of the Tunis Summit and the general trends and impacts of information and communication technologies on native cultures and societies, there was a significant emphasis upon the need to plan and prepare for the event.
The first Iranian scientific and professional conference in preparation for the second phase of WSIS
The first scientific and professional session in preparation for the second phase of WSIS was held on 28 July 2004 in Allameh Tabatabaee University, Tehran, Iran. In the beginning, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Forghani, the head of faculty of social sciences, welcomed the participants and expressed his hope for an active participation of Iran in the forthcoming international summit.
